Mardi Gras OverviewCarnival Cruise Line pay homage to the line's very first ship, 1972's TSS Mardi Gras, with the innovative Mardi Gras! Launched in 2020 and named for the ship that took Carnival to the seas, Mardi Gras is an XL-Class ship that accommodates over 6,500 passengers. This ship boasts the very first roller coaster at sea, named BOLT: Ultimate Sea Coaster. For the first time ever, Carnival guests can speed down a track at over 40 miles per hours, twisting and turning high above the sea. But, if adrenaline isn't your thing, feel free to just kick back and relax on the pool deck. There is only one requirement on Carnival's ships: have fun! The delicious food that you'll find on Mardi Gras at restaurants like Bonsai Teppenyaki, Cucina del Capitano, and Guy's Pig & Anchor Smokehouse Brew house offers plenty of variety for even the most picky eater in your family! If you want to take the kids to Mardi Gras, this one is definitely more family-friendly.

BIG CHICKEN We heard our CFO wanted us to build a new chicken restaurant… and we were all a little confused. Then we found out they meant Shaq, our Chief Fun Officer. (Happens all the time!) Anyway, when Shaq tells you to build a chicken joint on board, you start warming up immediately. The big guy brings his poultry know-how and good taste to the seas with Big Chicken, debuting in 2021 aboard Mardi Gras™… and then a little later on flavor teammates Carnival Celebration™ and Carnival Radiance™!

Just like Shaq’s a multitalented entertainer, his restaurant is no one-trick chick. Step up to the counter for lunch or dinner and walk away with your choice of chicken sandwiches, crispy chicken strips or juicy fried chicken baskets… plus side dishes, like potato salad and jalapeño slaw. Early-morning buzzer-beaters are invited to enjoy a breakfast of classics like chicken biscuits, a three-cheese omelet or our biscuit/egg combo featuring bacon or sausage. FAMILY FEUD LIVEFamily Feud™ has been delighting viewers at home for generations, but you’ve never had the chance to buzz-in on a cruise ship.
